Return to the Chesapeake Bay

What a busy summer!  Tomorrow we’ll load for our second DeZoZoo cruise to the Chesapeake, while on Thursday our intrepid research assistant heads to the Gulf of Mexico to sample plankton aboard the RV Oceanus for 28 days (!!!). Upon our return from the Chesapeake, we’ll be loading up our gear to head to the Gulf of Mexico where we’ll be mapping the dead zone and looking for oil (see a description of the overall project here, and our new one related to the oil here), all the while keeping an eye on the fish and zooplankton. Then back to the Chesapeake for another DeZoZoo cruise in late September!

But for now we’re packing.  Stay tuned for updates from the ship.  We’ll get pictures, data, and stories up as we go!
